BECHTELSVILLE, PA (June 20, 2016) – The ink is still fresh on the giant  check that Bryan Clauson claimed earlier this month after winning the USAC non-wing sprint car feature at Grandview Speedway on June 7.    Now, the Noblesville, IN native is Bechtelsville-bound once again to compete with the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series Pennsylvania Sprint Car Speed Week event at Grandview Speedway on Tuesday, June 28.  But on this night, Clauson will be racing with a wing all the horsepower it provides.  This event is presented by Pioneer Pole Buildings.

The 22nd Annual Speed Week event at the 1/3-mile clay oval features a 35-lap Sprint Car main event, the fourth race of a nine-race stretch for the winged 410 sprint cars.  Drivers from across the region will compete for a $5,000 winner’s share.  Tenth place will pay $1,000 with $400 just to  start the main event.

Also on the card, Grandview’s own NASCAR 358 Modifieds battle in a 30-lap event, with $3,000 up for grabs.  This event is a NASCAR point race for the always exciting 358 modifieds.

Time Trials for the 410 Sprint Cars will open the show on Tuesday, June 28 at 7:30 PM.  The pit gates will open at 2:30 PM and the Grandstands will open at 5:00 PM.  Fans can get up-close to the drivers and their mighty machines with the Low, Down and Dirty Meet and Greet kicking off at 5:00 PM.  If you would like to visit the pits, sign up for the free pre-race pit tours.

General Admission Adult tickets are $25, Children ages 6-11 are $10, and Under 6 is Free of charge.   Pit admission is $35, and no license is required.

Clauson, who’s ‘Circular Insanity’ tour will see him chase 200 events this year, has picked up two USAC non-wing victories, but this marks his first venture to Grandview Speedway in a winged Sprint Car.  Clauson’s, with several starts in the Indianapolis 500, loves to get dirty in sprint car racing and will certainly add to the show.  Some early pre-entries include Lucas Wolfe, Danny Dietrich, Ryan Smith, Brent Marks, Aaron Krimes, Freddie Rahmer, 8 time winner at Grandview Greg Hodnett, Brandon Rahmer and Stevie Smith just to offer a sampling of the quality of the field.

Last July, in the Inaugural Thunder Cup 410 Sprint Car race it was Gettysburg, PA’s Danny Dietrich, breaking Greg Hodnett’s four-race Grandview win streak to claim the $5,000 top prize.  Alan Krimes finished in third in the July 2015 event  and he has been so close to scoring that Grandview victory.  It could just happen on Tuesday night, July 28.

A $200 bonus has been posted to the top 360 Sprint Car, with a $100 bonus to the second 360 Sprint Car.

The Grandview small-block Modified stars will be out in full force defending their home turf: Current weekly series point leader, Craig VonDohren; 10-time Track Champion, Jeff Strunk; two-time 2016 race winner, Duane Howard; and 4-time Thunder on the Hill winner, Doug Manmiller.

Previous Thunder on the Hill modified winners Rick Laubach, Mike Gular, Ryan Godown, and Kevin Hirthler are all expected to be in attendance.

Advance tickets are on sale now and may be ordered by calling 443-513-4456.  Please provide your name and the number of tickets requested.  Tickets may be picked up and paid for on race night after 4:00 PM.  Advance ticket holders may enter the grandstands at 4:30 PM, one half hour prior to the sale of General Admission tickets.
