KEVIN HIRTHLER EYES BIG NIGHT IN TRIPLE 20S THUNDER SERIES 2020 FINALE AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY SATURDAY NIGHT, OCTOBER 17, $8,500 UP FOR GRABS

BECHTELSVILLE, PA . . . . . Kevin Hirthler is ready for Saturday night, October 17, when the Thunder on the Hill Racing Series closes out the 2020 season at the Grandview Speedway with the Trick or Treat Triple 20’s for the Big Block/358 Modifieds. Hirthler has three wins this season at Grandview, and he would like nothing more than to sweep the Triple 20’s and pocket $8,500.

Each feature will pay $2,000 to win, and a bonus of $2,500 is posted by Pioneer Pole Building’s if one driver pulls off the hat trick. There is a PPB $500 bonus if one driver wins two features. Gates will open at 4 PM with race time set for 6 PM. Pit gates will open at 2:30 PM. In addition to the Big Block/358 Modified Triple 20s, the sportsman will also be on the program competing in a series of qualifying events leading up to the 20 lap, $1,300 to win, main event.

Pioneer Pole Buildings is the premier builder of post-frame buildings in PA, NJ, DE, MD, WV, VA, and NY. Pioneer was founded in 1998 and has since built it’s business and quality reputation on providing customers with top quality buildings at very competitive prices. Pioneer Pole Buildings is located on South Route 183 in Schuylkill Haven, PA. For more information, please call 888-448-2505.

Kevin Hirthler owns fifteen career Grandview Speedway victories and scored one Thunder on the Hill win back in 2005. Kevin’s most significant win on the Hill came in 2012 when he took the victory in the Forrest Rogers Memorial, earning $10,000.

“With the format offered, it certainly is possible to win all three features in one night, but you will need a real fast, hot rod and a lot of luck.” Hirthler continued to say, “This different format is going to be interesting, and I think some drivers might try to use it to their advantage, never-the-less, it is going to be neat to run three features in one night.”

The 2020 season for Kevin Hirthler has been up and down. The three wins were impressive, but mechanical failures kept the Green Lane William Penn modified from qualifying on a few nights, and as a result, they dropped in points. “The completion level on the Hill is probably the toughest around, the cars are so close anymore and the amount of talent that shows up week in and week out from young to old is unbelievable,” said Hirthler.

Kevin will have a busy night, competing in both the modifieds and sportsman divisions. Kevin’s brother Brian Hirthler will also be doing double duty. Sponsors on the Green Lane William Penn Modifieds include Pioneer Pole Buildings, Pioneer Metal Roofing, Dave George Race Engines, Alpine Rentals, Four Star Lettering, Bicknell Racing Products, Jones Racing Products, and RoadRunner Racing Fuels.

Qualifying for the Modifieds will determine the starting field with the top 12 finishers from the heat race events, drawing the top 12 starting positions in the opening feature. The winner of the first and second feature will then draw an invert number of 8, 10, or 12. This makes a sweep of the Pioneer Pole Buildings $2,500 bonus extremely possible.

A special rules package is offered as a ‘treat’ to the region’s competitors, with both American Racer and Hoosier tires allowed for competition, and either Big-Block or Spec Small-Block engines permitted. An event sheet with the complete payoff, rules, and details is available at www.thunderonthehillracingseries.com

There is no entry fee, but drivers must pre-enter to be eligible for the posted payoff and to draw. Drivers may pre-enter by calling 443 513 4456.
